The day she broke off with Harman Baweja Priyanka Chopra’ s personal life has been in the news every now and then. Every time she is linked with some or the actor. Some time back she was linked with Shahid Kapur and two of them were spotted together at many private parties. Then Hollywood actor Gerard Butler came and added a kind of twist to their love tale. He was quite infatuated towards Priyanka.

She hosted a house warming bash at her new home in Versova on 30 April. It was a party in the honor of Gerard’s who seemed to be more than glad.

Almost all the big stars from Bollywood industry were present there including Hrithik, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan, Farah Khan, Meher Jessia, Kangana Ranaut, Adhyayan, Farhan Akhtar, Mahdeep and Sanjay Kapoor, Suazanne Roshan, Arjun Rampal, etc,.

This first born girl child of a large extended family was welcomed like a star. With large twinkling eyes and the most fascinating smile she was a winner.Priyanka had a very varied upbringing . Having joined an Army family, she moved from Leh-ladakh in the north to Kerala in the south from Bombay in the west to Jamshedpur in the East . She imbibed the ethos of the multicultural Indian society. A family favorite she grew up in the warmth & Love offered by her grandparents, aunts & uncles. All of this went into the making of a very warm, loving & confident personality. She started her Education from La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow as a resident student, A short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared her for further studies in the USA. Having completed class 10th from Boston USA. After returning from Boston she received a call to participate in the Femina Miss India pageant to which her parents had sent her photographs without her knowledge. She turned out the first runner-up in the pageant. Incidentally all the three Miss India personalities of the pageant went on to win their respective titles for the year - Miss India Lara Dutta became Miss Universe 2000 and second runner-up Diya Mirza became Miss Asia-Pacific 2000. This was the first time the three titles of an year went to the same country.

Biography

Priyanka Chopra was born to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Akhauri, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Her parents are physicians by profession. Though she was born in Jamshedpur she spent her childhood days in various places which include Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh; Newton, Massachusetts; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She also has a brother, Siddharth, who is seven years younger to her.

The frequent re-locations took place as her father was a physician in the Indian Army. She subsequently re-located to the U.S. where she studied in Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts and then in John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She returned to India and did her high school at Army School in Bareilly.

She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left after winning the Miss World pageant.

Being a North India she started her career in South Film Industry. In 2002 she starred in a Tamil film Tamhizhan opposite Vijay. She couldn't make her presence felt in this film.

She appeared in Bollywood for the first time in Sunny Deol's The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy. Even her debut film in Bollywood didn' work for her.

She made a mark in Bollywood with her negative role in Aitraaz (2003). Since then there was no looking back for her. She was noticed by one and all in Aitraaz. After this she had loads of films in her kitty which includes Plan, kismet, Blackmail, Karam, Waqt, Bluffmaster, and many more. It was Raksh Roshan's Krrish which again brought her to the limelight.

Recently she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Fashion (2008).
