Hansika Motwani is not any unfamiliar name to the Indian household due to her appearances in the many of the famous soap operas. She was born in Mumbai, India on August 9, 1991. Her father Mr. Pradeep Motwani is not living with the family as her parents Pradeep Motwani, a businessman and Mona Motwani, a dermatologist, were separated in the year 2004. She has a brother called Prashant Motwani. She is presently living with her mother Mrs. Mona Motwani and Brother Prashant Motwani. Hansika is presently busy completing her A Levels in education with Podar International School, Mumbai. While on the other hand she is doing the feature films and the advertisement films simultaneously with her study.

 
She started her acting career at an early age as a child artist. It was Juhi Chawla who first noticed Hansika’s acting abilities and recommended her to the director of the now shelved film "Yahoo" starring Govinda and Juhi Chawla where she acted as a child artist with Juhi Chawla and Govinda. Then it was Rakesh Roshan's Koi Mil Gaya acting in Super Six with Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta. Later on she appeared in the Hyundai Santro ad with Shahrukh Khan. Hannsikaa has also done ad films and television serials for Samsung, Pepsi and Bournvita. Recently she made her debut in the movie called Desamuduru, a Telugu movie by Puri Jagannadh simultaneously she appeared in the latest Bollywood film Aap Ka Suroor Where she plays the leading lady. Hansika Motwani is currently acting in the movie "He - The Only One", wherein she is playing the role of a killer trying to take revenge for her family.

Hansika Motwani celebrated her 18th birthday yesterday (August 9). The Aap Ka Suroor actress spent her birthday at home with family and friends.
She says, "The first thing that I'd like to do now that I have turned 18 is to get myself registered for voting. I've seen my parents observing their constitutional rights. Today I'm immensely aware of my social responsibilities, and would like to practice it for myself by being a registered voter."

Hansika was born on August 9, 1991 in the Sindhi speaking Motwani family in Bombay, India. Her dad, Pradeep, is a businessman, while her mom, Mona, is a Dermatologist. She has an elder brother, Prashant. She is a student in Podar Internation School. Her parents divorced during 2004, while she continues to live in Andheri, Bombay, India, with her mom.

 She has appeared in many TV serials, for example 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thee', 'Hum 2 Hai Na', 'Desh Me Nikla Hoga Chand', 'Shakalaka Boom Boom', 'Celebrity Fame Gurukool', and 'Tum Bin' as a child artiste. She also appeared as such in several TV commercails  (e.g. Pepsi, Samsung, Hyundai Santro TV, and Bournvita).

Her mom's client, none other than Juhi Chawla, noticed Hansika and recommended that she act in movies. She was accordingly signed by for 'Yahoo' with herself and Govinda. Unfortunately, this movie was shelved.

This did not stop Hansika from acting as she has now appeared in a total of 5 movies in Hindi, as well as several regional language movies (e.g. Desamuduru in Telugu, Sarvam in Tamil).

Hansika made her debut as heroine in Puri Jagannadh\'s Telugu film, Desamuduru, starring opposite Allu Arjun. The film is about a crime reporter who falls in love with a sannyasi, played by Hansika. She also has a Hindi film entitled .The Only One in where she will be essaying the role of a killer, hell bent on taking revenge for her family. Hansika made her debut as a leading actress in Bollywood with Himesh Reshammiya in Aap Kaa Suroor - The Real Luv Story. She played the role of Himesh Reshammiya\\\'s lover Ria. The film was released on 29 June 2007 and became a hit mostly with the masses across India. This has paved the way for her to be called a promising newcomer. Hansika made her debut as a lead actress in Kannada film Bindaas with Puneet Rajkumar.The film was released on 15 February 2008. She paired with Jr. NTR in the film Kantri which was released in May 2008. The film was a moderate hit. she also,acted in a leading role with Ram in Maska. She is also making her Tamil film debut through Maapilai opposite actor Dhanush. She began her TV journey on a serial called Shakalaka Boom Boom (a story about a boy named Sanju and his magic pencil).
